Update: Here’s an 8 a.m. release from the Seattle Police Department:

On 5/6/10, at approximately 5:10 p.m., officers responded to N 115 St and Meridian Av N. to a report of shots fired.

Officers responded to the area and located a male on the ground near the corner of N. 113st and Meridian Av N. The victim told officers that he had been shot in the left arm by a male, who claimed that the victim owed him money. After shooting the victim, the suspect ran off in an unknown location.

Seattle Fire responded and treated the 24-year-old male at the scene. He was later transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.

While interviewing the victim, officers recovered a small baggy of drugs from his person. At this time, it is unknown what precipitated the shooting.

A man believed to be in his mid-20s was shot repeatedly late Thursday afternoon just west of Interstate 5 at North 113th Street, our news partner The Seattle Times is reporting.

The shooting occurred about 5:15 p.m. near the eastern edge of the Evergreen Washelli Cemetery on Meridian Avenue North.
