The year-old Meadowbrook Farmers Market kicked off its opening day Sunday with giveaways, classes for kids and adults, and a full house.

The nonprofit market, located at the Seattle Waldorf School at 2728 N.E. 100th St., is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays until Oct. 31.

In addition to edible and other items for sale including veggies, flowers, farm-fresh eggs, all-natural beef, wine, honey, handmade soaps, breads, veggie starts and much more, the opening day festivities also included part one of a demonstration on building a worm bin (part two is scheduled for next Sunday, June 13), as well as children’s activities on how to plant a seed and face-painting.

And they keep you entertained with a little something to tap your foot to. (Events schedule here.)

You’ve still got time to check it out, but if you don’t make it today, you can write next week’s shopping list with help from the vendor list.
