If you missed your chance to observe the painting of a street mural in Wallingford that was designed my Maple Leaf artist Rachel Marcotte, our news partners MyWallingford give an avid description of the weekend-long event along with the following photo of the colorful design, as well as many more.

Dozens of volunteers from the neighborhood spent the weekend cleaning then painting the intersection at Interlake Avenue North and North 41st Street after Marcotte drew the outline.

Marcotte told MyWallingford:

“The most amazing thing about this was the people. They embraced it and took ownership. It’s beautiful not to be mine anymore and to hand it over to the neighborhood,” she said. “It’s the most gratifying thing as an artist, to be able to give this to people.”
