This weekend, Cooper’s Alehouse is turning back the clock on its prices in honor of its 10-year anniversary.
Owner Kirbie Predmore said 10 years ago on Saturday he took over the Lake City Way alehouse, and to celebrate both the bar and its patrons, Cooper’s will offer some of its long-running menu items at their original prices, including $3.25 pints of beer, $11 pitchers, $5 hamburgers and $7 fish and chips.
In addition to great prices, Cooper’s also will have “a whole bunch of schwag,” including T-shirts, hats and other goodies that they will be raffling throughout the festivities, which begin at 5 p.m. and continue through closing on Saturday.
“We have a lot of people who have been coming here the whole time,” Predmore said. “We’re trying to think of some fun things to organize and just say thanks to people for hanging around for so long.”
Although 8065 Lake City Way N.E. has been a bar since the 1960s, Predmore said it wasn’t until 1983 that it became what’s believed to be Seattle’s first alehouse, with 23 beers on tap.
“It was a big deal back then,” Predmore said. Now it’s a big deal the bar has been in the same hands for a decade.
“We’re the first owners who made it 10 years,” he added.
Happy Anniversary, Cooper’s!
Gee! Those prices are just…. well…. like the current ones!! I don’t see any “celabratory” pricing here.. on to the next bar..
