  1. Having just moved to Maple Leaf, this is disconcerting. Can Maple Leaf Life reach out to the police and get some tips on what to do to avoid our cars getting targeted by prowlers? I put a club on and keep nothing valuable in there, but is there anything else I can do?

  2. Is it the holiday season ramping up (presents under a tree make for easy pickins) or is there some specific focus on our area? Either way, I don’t like it.

My wife saw a late model dark Mercedes with Texas plates creeping along 98th (between 5th and 8th). The car drove down to 5th, turned around and drove back slowly. A younger male in a track jacket. Now this could be someone looking for a friend’s address, or it could be someone casing houses. Regardless, I’d love to see a definite method for getting this sort of thing out and noticed.

  3. @Jon

It’s not just you. It’s getting ridiculous. I hate to have to do it, but I just put wooden dowels in every window and a large inner door brace on my back basement door just in case.

I also make a conscious effort to leave nothing valuable in my car at all.
