Maple Leaf could be getting a lot more press in the coming months.
The president of the Maple Leaf Community Council executive board, Joshua Newman, just informed us that our neighborhood’s own King County Councilman Bob Ferguson is running for state attorney general.

Ferguson is a great guy and I plan to support him fully!
Bob Ferguson is a great guy, and a worthy candidate for Attorney General, but, aside from the fact that he currently lives in the Maple Leaf neighborhood, I really don’t think Maple Leaf is the newsworthy part of this story to anyone outside of Maple Leaf itself.
Do you think that when the Spokane paper reports on his candidacy, they’re going to say he’s from “Maple Leaf”? No, they’re going to say that he is a King County Council member representing a Seattle slash North King County district.
That said, I wish Ferguson the best. He is certainly well-qualified for the A.G. position.
