Maple Leaf’s Cloud City Coffee, 8801 Roosevelt Way N.E, will be receiving a “coffee exploration” from the Coffee Club of Seattle at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

The “Coffee Explorer” group will visit the coffee house and report back to the rest of the group how they liked it, and if it should become a regular meeting place for the coffee cravers.

The Coffee Club of Seattle was founded in 2006 to bring together coffee lovers and connect them to independent coffee establishments. They also provide educational events, such as how to brew or use coffee-making equipment.

On Feb. 2, the Coffee Club of Seattle also visited Maple Leaf’s Cafe Javasti, 8410 Fifth Ave. N.E.

As of Tuesday night, there’s one spot left to sign up with the group, and signup closes at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Visit this site if you’d like to snag the last spot.

If you can’t be a part of the group, stop on by and support your local coffee house.

  1. I prefer the coffee and the people at Blue Saucer. Also, Blue Saucer does a better job managing the parking. Cloud City patrons often park their cars over the sidewalk and on more than one occasion have very nearly backed into pedestrians while leaving with their tall white cups.

  2. Having frequented Cloud City, Javasti or Blue Saucer daily for the past 8 years, I think Blue Saucer serves the best espresso. I think Cloud City has the best selection of foods and non-coffee beverages and Javasti, the best prices and pastries.
