  1. And as we wind on down the road, our shadows taller than our soul, there walks a lady we all know, who shines white light and wants to show, how everything still turns to gold, and if you listen very hard, the tune will come to you at last, when all are one and one is all, to be a rock and not to roll.

MLL: Must of been mid afternoon As I could tell by how far the child’s shadow stretched out
And he walked with a purpose in his sneakers, down the street He had many questions like children often do

  2. Yes! There were plenty – an estimated 75 – of people who showed up. Someone who’d come last year was heard to comment about the excellent visibility of fireworks, compared to last year, when they watched, “as the fog rolled in” and across the view.

People seemed to be trying to catch some imagery with tablet-sized camera or smartphones; but one really needed a digital SLR with a telephoto. The Space Needle looked like a lava lamp with a broken top. (Google “lava lamp,” if the term doesn’t bring an image to mind.)

  3. Is it possible to see fireworks being set off, from other parts of the city, especially the Space Needle, from the Maple Leaf Reservoir Park?

Given a lack of plans, I’m going to trek there from the northwest sector of Maple Leaf, in any event, well before midnight; but will check back and see if anyone – maybe someone who used the park as a vantage point last New Year’s or July Fourth – can advise.
