  1. Mike, the editor for this blog, accepts leads and acts on them; he also accepts copy (aka, “news stories”) and photos. Like all news publications, he doesn’t accept all of any of them. Yours truly has given him leads that were valuable, photos and copy; some were not used for reasons he explained – some having to do with issues unrelated to how good they might be or were (such as privacy or liability issues).

It doesn’t pay anything, but it helps make the blog better. For those needing to exercise the muscles between their ears, or create samples of work on-line, it’s a way to go. However, be advise: journalism is not for sissies or prima donnas.

Note: This is coming from a writer/photographer whose work has appeared in the New York Times, Puget Sound Business Journal, Sports Car Market and others, for what it’s worth.

  2. I tried to relay a message to City Light about seeing the Lightning hit a particular spot on 96th. I got the answering machine when trying to call and then snotty reactions from the road crew.

  3. Its better than reading about the crackheads and meth dealers in the neighborhood slinging dope in the school zones. Give em a break.
