7 a.m.

Rain = 0.95 inches.

Big Storm ETA 4 6 p.m.  Gusts 50-60 45 49 mph late this afternoon.

There is one power outage in Maple Leaf, between Eighth Avenue Northeast and Roosevelt Way Northeast, at around 100th Avenue Northeast.

Friday, Oct. 14.


2:15 p.m. New high wind speed 32 mph at 2:02 p.m.

10:30 a.m. More heavy rain, wind heading our way after short break. Wind at Sea-Tac 43mph.

9 a.m. There is a power outage in Pinehurst, just north of Northgate, affecting one customer. Otherwise, quiet rain.

7 a.m. Storm No 1 arrived (finally, some 14 hours late) at around 6:24 a.m. (Although the main front passed through six hours ago.)

Overnight rain at Maple Leaf Life south = 1.71 inches. KOMO’s Scott Sistek says Oct. 13 now the wettest day in Seattle this year.

High wind 27 mph at 12:18 a.m.

Lightning. Some thunder.

Tornado warning on the coast just expired. Wind warning here has expired, although wind advisory still in effect through 6 p.m. From the National Weather Service in Seattle:

SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL RISE AGAIN MIDDAY TODAY AND PEAK THIS AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING…THEN EASE TEMPORARILY TONIGHT. A STRONGER STORM WILL ARRIVE SATURDAY EVENING WITH HIGH WINDS LIKELY.

* WINDS…SOUTH WINDS 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH TODAY…STRONGEST MIDDAY THROUGH AFTERNOON.

* SOUTH WINDS 20 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 65 MPH ARE POSSIBLE SATURDAY NIGHT.
