Both Maple Leaf Ace Hardware and the Maple Leaf Grill are collecting clothes, backpacks or other donations for Treehouse, a non-profit that supports foster children.
The hardware store has a list on its Facebook page for kids ages 5 to 18. It includes new:
__ Jeans
__ Long or short sleeved shirt
__ Hooded sweatshirt
__ Warm Coat
__ Socks & Underwear
__ Shoes
__ Backpack or Messenger Bag
__ A new outfit, from head to toe
The Maple Leaf Grill’s Facebook page says “Washington State gives foster parents a maximum of $300 per year to clothe a growing child. It’s simply not enough.”
The Grill is taking donations through Thursday, and Ace through Friday.
Anybody know of additional local places to help get kids back to school?
