Home robbery in Lake City

After a bit of confusion we’ve sorted out this incident from the Maple Leaf robbery that took place this morning. Since they’re similar we’re leaving this post from our sister site Wedgwood View.

A police report that’s just been released details a frightening experience for a woman in Lake City. She told police she was attacked in her driveway in the morning hours of December 30 in the 3000 block of NE 95th.  Here’s the full report.

12/30/2010 at 0700 hrs, the victim was leaving for work. She was loading up her car in her driveway at NE 95 St. All of a sudden she was attacked by 2 unknown persons wearing hooded jackets. She said that it was still dark out, and she could offer no description of the persons. She assumes they were both male. They two suspects knocked her to the ground and kicked her in an attempt to get her purse.

The males spoke with no distinguishable accent. The victim stated that a couple of her neighbors came upon the scene on their way to catch the bus. This startled the attackers and they fled.  She suffered a couple of scratches on her lower back and a bruise on her side. The suspects did not get her purse.  The victim did not call police immediately.

Instead, she went to work but could not make it through the day. She returned home to make the report. She said that she did not call in the morning, because she felt like she did not have much to offer in the way of description other than males with hoods. I encouraged to call immediately in the future to give us the best chance to develop leads.

Officers ask anyone with information to contact the Robbery Unit at 684-5535 or Crimestoppers at 206-323-2020.

  1. (The details of the attack in Wedgwood are different from the home invasion details, so I think these are two separate incidents, right?)
