Have you seen Dotee the missing cat?

Joe wrote us last night:

My cat has disappeared and for some reason, I feel if I get the word out, via your site, I may have a chance at finding him.

His name is Dotee, he has no vocal chords and cannot meow, really. He also has a track record of urinary infection (I had him in the emergency hospital, for a 2K surgery 8 mos. ago). But he has to take prescription medicine.

The thing is, he is very friendly and often loses his collar. So my fear is that someone may have picked him up and is keeping him.

Joe said Dotee went missing on Tuesday, Jan. 18 early in the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 19. (Joe e-mailed us back. He gave the location as Northeast 91st and 20th Avenue Northeast.) If you have information call Joseph Wheeler at  206-522-8585.

  1. Thank you Dr. Scott.

I just thought of this last night and was going to go to your place and ask if I could put it up there. I check every day at the animal shelter. I also have the flyers and talked to neighbors and asked another vet if they’d put up the pic.
I have been dumbfounded by this and really devastated, frankly. I am borderline catatonic, I’m so depressed over this loss. But I have to do things to find him. I pray for divine intervention but know I have to do my part. Thanks.

  2. You are always welcome to put up a sign for a missing pet in our clinic, Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center. Also, be sure to inquire at the three area emergency clinics as well as the animal shelter.

  3. Thank you everyone, so far, for posting and keeping an eye out. I am having a difficult time with this – and I appreciate anything you can do. Like Mike wrote, NE 91st and 20th Ne is where he constantly hung out, so I would think he would stay near here -but one never knows.

  4. I hit a black & white cat on my way home from work on Friday the 21st at about 20th & 83rd . It tumbled under my car & actually ran out the other side & into the bushes ~ I’m sure it was hurt but didn’t know what to do. Hopefully it wasn’t yours!

  5. I saw a cat that looked like this one (although the dark splotches seemed a little lighter than those in this photo) in our backyard near 15th and 97th ne on January 25th. I had never seen it before. I’ll keep an eye out in case of a return visit.
