When will the bridge close?

Posted by Mike on February 14th, 2010

Looks like the 15th Avenue Northeast bridge over Thornton Creek will be shut down in about three weeks, and stay shut for the next year. No cars, pedestrians, buses, bikes, skateboarders allowed. Nada.

No one from the city has responded to our request last month for an exact closing date, but the city Web site believes construction will start in March. The structure of the entire bridge, on 15th Avenue just south of Northgate Way at 105th Street, will be strengthened and cracks in the concrete repaired, and a railing will separate the sidewalk from the pavement.
