The Vitamin Shoppe opened its 464th store today on the northwest corner of Thornton Place, 301 N.E. 103rd St., featuring myriad promotions that last throughout the month to help introduce new customers to its products.

“We have a lot of stuff on sale right now,” said store manager Jaime, pointing out nearly half-off prices on some of its more popular products, including No-Xplode and Jack3d pre-workout formulas and the age-defying Reserveage Organics. In addition, if you buy one Vitamin Shoppe product, you get a second at half off.

The store has a little bit of everything, from pre-workout formulas and vitamins to homeopathic remedies and natural beauty products, but Jaime says you can expect quality advice from all of its staff members, who are educated through the company’s own online learning website, Vitamin Shoppe University.

“We are extremely knowledgeable about all of our products,” she said, adding that they won’t just push the sale of the week, but rather the products that will best help the customer. “We’re not going to steer you to stuff you’re not going to need.”

Jaime also said one of the focuses of the new store is to be more involved in the community, and staff already are planning a health fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 21 that will feature a number of local businesses, including chiropractors, health clubs, a naturopath, a massage therapist and an acupuncturist, as well as gift cards and other giveaways.

“We’re here to make people healthier and try to relieve stress,” Jaime said.
