Lost pets in Maple Leaf

UPDATE Aug. 19: We received this from Sara.

I was wondering if you add my cat Trouble. Black Short Hair, no collar, but is microchipped. Please call 206-953-2657.

I think it’s very odd that so many black cats are missing.  We live near Maple Leaf park on 12th. Thanks!

This came in earlier this week from Chris: “Would you folks consider a section for lost pets?  There are flyers for two separate lost cats on my block alone, and now my new neighbor has lost her cat.  I live on NE 94th, between 12th and 15th avenues northeast.”

We don’t have a specific section for lost pets, but we’re always interested in reuniting animals and humans. Chris’ new neighbor, Emily, sent us this description and photo:

Our 6-year-old female cat, Sadie, escaped from our house in the 1200 block of NE 94th St. on Thursday evening (8/12).  She is small (about 9 lbs), all black, long-haired, with yellow-green eyes.  She does not have a collar on, but she is micro-chipped.  A cat fitting her description was seen along NE 98th St. near the ravine on Friday evening.  It is unlikely that she will come if called, but we would greatly appreciate a phone call if anyone sees her or manages to lure her inside: 206-280-8875.

  1. Update on Sadie: She is safely back in our home after we were able to capture her in a live trap in our backyard! I would recommend this method to other missing pet owners. You can borrow the traps from volunteers at the Seattle Animal Shelter by calling (206) 386-4294.

Best of luck finding Lucky and Trouble,
    Emily

  2. I saw the mention about lost pets on the blog. We are happy to put up fliers in our clinic for anyone that loses a pet and we also encourage anyone finding a pet that seems lost to stop by and have us scan it for a microchip. We also place the microchips and it really helps many pets get reunited with their owners. Feel free to call with any questions.
