It’s football season again, and King County Metro Transit has got you covered with special shuttle buses to and from the Northgate Transit Center for all home games to Huskies and Hawks games, starting this weekend.

The service kicks off Saturday with a free bus service to and from the Huskies game at the University of Washington’s Husky Stadium, with additional home games that will offer the service Sept. 18, Oct. 9, Oct. 16, Oct. 30 and Nov. 18.

The bus service for the Seahawks home games at Qwest Field begins Sunday, with additional home games Sept. 26, Oct. 24, Nov. 7, Nov. 28, Dec. 5, Dec. 19 and Jan. 2. The fare for is $5 one way or $10 round trip.

Shuttle buses also will be available from Kingsgate/Houghton, South Kirkland, Eastgate, South Renton, Shoreline and Federal Way.

For information about normal transit service on game days, visit the online Trip Planner, or call Metro’s Customer Information Office at 206-553-3000.

You might want to take advantage of the service while you still can. The Seattle Department of Transportation notes in its news release:

There is currently a lawsuit in federal courts that could affect whether Metro can provide this service for the entire football season. The hearing on that challenge is expected to resume in late September. If Metro is unable to complete the season, the teams will make a decision about ongoing transportation services to the games.
