We’ve had several readers ask what’s going on up and down Roosevelt Avenue Northeast, starting around Northeast 90th Street and heading north.
And the answer is: We don’t know, either.
It has something to do with street work. We’ve asked Seattle Public Utilities. They couldn’t say.
We’ve asked the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT). They didn’t know.
(The barricades are from both departments.)
This morning (the rain having stopped) we went to ask the crews. We couldn’t find them.
We know the work is going east-west between 15th and Fifth avenues northeast.
Anybody know what’s going on?
This doesn’t QUITE look like the right location, but the citywide planning map shows this for 94th and Roosevelt.

Looks similar to this work done between Green Lake and Licton Springs: http://www.mygreenlake.com/2010/07/wallingford-ave-construction/
There’d be no parking signs for a specific day and then new patches of pavement like that.
I also just noticed that heading North on 15th there is a sign that says all the vehicles need to be removed. Idid not catch a date/time on the sign. Curiouser and Curiouser.
