Robbery at gunpoint reported at Northgate Mall

Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a man of his wallet and mobile phone about 8 p.m. Sunday in the  Northgate Mall parking lot, police say.

He was approached by two white males. The victim stated that they were covering their faces with beanies. One suspect pointed a gun at the victim and began going his pockets for items to steal. One suspect made several threats after robbing the victim of his wallet and phone. The suspects were last seen running through the parking lot. North Precinct officers arrived and conducted an area search, but did not locate the suspects.

  1. Northgate isn’t Maple Leaf, I don’t think it’s an indicator of what’s going on in our hood, that type of crime is typical of malls.

    @2, don’t you find parking at U-Village a nightmare? I always am under the illusion I can hop on over to U-Village to pick something up and it takes at least an hour because of the parking situation and how slow the traffic moves through there with all the speed bump, stop signs, and confused drivers.

  2. Update April 5: Expanded report now available specifies the “parking lot on the southeast side, near the Food Court.”
    Additional details: During the attack one of the robbers said: “You move, you’re gone. I know where you stay, don’t call the police because I know everything about you.”

    Report only identifies the location as a parking lot or garage in the 400 block of Northeast Northgate Way.

    Good question Neighbor. It would be helpful to know which parking lot this occurred in.
